Duke Jones has been performing live music for over 20 years. He is a guitarist, vocalist and entertainer, also a master of the blues. His work features traditional acoustic standards as well as electric guitar with a band.
Born in Houston, Texas, grew up listening to rock and roll, learned to play guitar as a teenager. He quit school and went to New York City where he was involved in the burgeoning anti-folk movement at "The Fort" in the East Village during the hey day of punk rock and lived in Harlem, studying the blues.
Returned to Houston after several years and started a band that played the local nightclubs. He was involved in a serious motorcycle accident that would take several years to recover from completely. Spent the time studying jazz theory and earning a living with a daytime job.
Duke has recorded a number of CD's for booking gigs over the years. "Catfish Reef" has become popular among local audiences and other recording projects are underway. Duke is still performing regularly. His passion for music has never let up and his live shows are better than ever.
